Alexander (Alec) Munro was hired as FLC's Strength and Conditioning Coordinator in December of 2021, coming to Durango after serving as a Graduate Assistant at Pittsburg State University; a NCAA Division II school in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Born and raised in Wilber, Nebraska, Alec first attended Hastings College on scholarship to play basketball. He received his BA in Exercise Science with a minor in Strength and Conditioning and Small Business Management while interning under Director Brett Wells in the Human Performance program. He then went on to pursue a MAT in Physical Education and fulfill a graduate assistant role primarily working with volleyball, baseball, and shotgun sports.

After one year in the MAT program at Hastings College, Alec transferred to Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS to pursue an MS in Health and Human Performance, working specifically with the men's and women's basketball, and track and field programs. He will receive his diploma in May of 2022.

In addition to his assistant coaching experience at Hastings College and Pittsburg State University, Alec has worked with a variety of sports through four internship programs: EXOS, Hastings College, University of Nebraska Lincoln, and Florida Atlantic University.
