Anthony joined the Sacramento State sports medicine staff in July 2020 as a graduate assistant, and currently holds the position of assistant athletic trainer, providing care to men’s soccer and women’s tennis teams.

Anthony graduated from Bellarmine University in Louisville, Ky., with his bachelor of science in exercise xcience (sports performance) with a minor in nutrition in 2018, and his master of science in athletic training in 2020. He became a Certified Athletic Trainer in June 2020. During his time at Bellarmine, Anthony was active in biomechanical and exercise physiology research starting as a research assistant and moving to primary investigator, then co-author working with faculty from the exercise science department.

During the 2020-21 academic year Anthony worked with Sac State’s gymnastics and men/women’s soccer teams. During 2021-2022, he was assigned to men’s soccer and assisted with women’s soccer. In 2022-23 Anthony was tasked with working with men’s soccer and women’s tennis and will continue this role for 2023-24. Anthony holds his certification as a corrective exercise specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as of December 2022. He also has experience with instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, myofascial decompression, blood flow restriction, and extrapolated stress monitoring through GPS tracking data that he uses to help deliver preferred patient outcomes.

Outside of work, Anthony competes in the sport of Olympic weightlifting and enjoys traveling for new experiences.
