Brad Camp was named the program's fourth head coach in December of 2018.

Camp coached some great players during the 2023 season earning two honorable mentions. To wrap up the season, the team closed strong with a huge win against Colorado School of Mines to knock the Orediggers out of the tournament. The Cougars made the RMAC conference tournament for the first time in program history during the 2022 season. Further, Max Collingwood was named the RMAC’s GK of the Year, the team pulled out two great results against the #17 and #3 teams in the nation, and finished off their third winning season in a row. The 2021 season saw the Cougars finish 10-5-1 and was also historic. The 10 wins set a new school record for single season wins in program history. His coaching helped five CCU players earn All-Conference recognition which was also the most in program history for a season.

In his second campaign, during a chaotic 2020-21 school year he guided the program to a 6-5 record. The first winning record in program history. During that historic season, he coached Max Collingwood to the league’s Defensive Player of the Year honor while guiding two addition players to All-Conference accolades.

Camp, who brings a host of accolades to the school, joins the department after serving as the assistant coach at East Tennessee State for two seasons, during which he won a regular season conference championship. Coach Camp also proved successful in the USL2 ranks as a Head Coach. In the summer of 2022, he took the Flatirons rush to a 7-3-2 record and a trip to the national tournament.

The Tennessee native holds national B, C, D, E and Youth licenses in coaching education from the U.S. Soccer Federation. He also has goalkeeper level I and II licenses and Director of Coaching diplomas from the United Soccer Coaches.

Prior to joining the Buccaneers, Camp was an assistant coach at Maryville College as well as the Head Coach for the Knoxville Force of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). Camp has also notched up several accolades in the youth game serving as a Director of Coaching at FC Alliance, Region III Staff coach in the Olympic Development Program, and countless other roles.

He played collegiately at Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) where he manned the left back position. During his senior campaign he was named a TranSouth Conference Scholar-Athlete.

Camp graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Trevecca Nazarene in 2010. He owns a master’s degree and Ph.D. from Middle Tennessee State University in that field of study as well; earning them in 2012 and 2015, respectively.

He is married to Dr. Ellen Camp (Parker), and they live in Lakewood with their three children.

Quoted from Coach Camp:

“I chose to be at CCU because I felt led to be here. My passion is to get a group of guys to rally around a common goal. The common goal here is to build this program, and to encourage guys to be men of God.”

“I think the thing we live by here at CCU is the saying of ‘no nice guys’ brought about by CCU alumnus and Christian author John Elderidge. He says Christian men need to seek adventure, fight their battles, and seek to be more than just nice guys.”

“The biggest encouragement we give to our guys is to reject entitlement. We are all blessed to be playing and attending a DII university. Hard work got us here, and hard work will keep us here. Be grateful, be humble.”
