Carlos Tofern joined the Saint Louis men's soccer staff in the summer of 2023 as an assistant coach. The former SLU standout works primarily with the Billiken goalkeepers.

Tofern played the 2022 season with the Billikens and helped them capture Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season and tournament titles. He started 17 games between the posts, compiling an 11-3-3 record and a 0.87 goals against average.

In the 2022 A-10 Men's Soccer Championship, Tofern registered six saves out of eight chances over two PK shootouts in the semifinal and final. He was tabbed the A-10 Championship Most Outstanding Player for his efforts.

Prior to landing at SLU, Tofern played two years at the University of Bridgeport where he was the league's Goalkeeper of the Year in 2019. From 2020-22, Tofern played at Albany where he ranked among the America East's top keepers.
