Celia Mosier has completed her eighth season as goalkeeper coach of men's and women's soccer at RMC.The Yellow Jackets men's soccer team finished the 2022 campaign with five shutouts and a 1.42 GAA over the course of the season. Adam Braithwaite and Zach Fontenot split the goalkeeping duties, with both having a save percentage above .700.The 2021 season was highlighted by defense and goalkeeping, as Mosier coached the Yellow Jackets' keepers to nine shutouts on the year. That number was good for first in the ODAC and one of the top in the nation. RMC finished 10-4-3, earning the third seed in the conference tournament for the second straight season. Goalkeeper Adam Braithwaite was named All-ODAC third team after posting a 0.84 GAA and a .800 save percentage in 16 starts.In the shortened 2020 season, RMC pitched three shutouts in eight matches, earning a 5-2 conference record over the season.Between 2015-18, Mosier coached one of the all-time great goalkeepers in program history. Brian Breslin finished his career with 25 total shutouts which sits third on the programs all-time list behind Mark Cola (35 shutouts from 1993-96) and Nick Warner (28 shutouts from 2002-05). Since Mosier arrived, RMC has posted a .616 win percentage overall and a .589 win percentage in conference with 48 total shutouts.On the women's side, RMC had one of its most successful campaigns in 2019. The Yellow Jackets posted a 21-1-1 overall mark, setting program records with 21 victories and with 20 straight wins to start the season. RMC went 10-0 in ODAC play and earned the top seed in the ODAC Tournament. RMC topped Lynchburg 4-1 in the quarterfinals, edged Bridgewater 1-0 in overtime in the semifinals and won on penalty kicks in the finals against Virginia Wesleyan to claim the program's 13th ODAC title. The 13th-ranked Yellow Jackets blanked Haverford 2-0 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament before falling at top-seeded and eventual national champion Messiah in the second round. RMC recorded 15 shutouts, the top mark in the conference, and was ranked 15th in the nation in shutout percentage at .652. The Yellow Jackets were 29th in the country in goals-against average at 0.60. RMC allowed one goal in its seven matches prior to the season-ending contest.Mosier has more than 20 years of coaching experience at all levels and has worked with thousands of goalkeepers. She is currently the Goalkeeping Director for Richmond United in addition to serving as the Director of Goalkeeping for the Richmond Strikers since 2013. Mosier also serves on the PDP and US Soccer Training Centers staff in Virginia.Mosier holds her USSF A License, NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma, and National Youth License. She came to the Strikers from PWSI, where she was the Girls Director of Coaching and Goalkeeping Director, and she has worked for VA ODP as the GK Head Coach and has served as a Region I GK Coach.As a collegian, Mosier played at the University at Albany - SUNY, where she earned a BS in Biology. Mosier later earned an MS in Education from Wagner College. Additionally, Mosier is the founder and owner of Own the Goal Elite Goalkeeper Training.
