Corey Mason joined the Allegheny staff as the Director of Peak Performance in August of 2021. He arrived in Meadville after being a member of the athletic performance staff at the University of New Mexico since 2018. 

Mason started his time with New Mexico as a summer intern, working with the baseball and football programs. Following the internship, Mason was hired as the Graduate Assistant Athletic Performance Coach. In that role, Mason worked primarily with the men’s tennis and track & field programs while also assisting with volleyball, softball, football, baseball and men’s golf. After one year as the graduate assistant, Mason was promoted to the role of Assistant Director of Athletic Performance. In the assistant director position, Mason was responsible for developing and implementing performance programs for men’s tennis, women’s soccer and track & field while assisting with volleyball, softball, cross country and men’s golf. During his tenure at New Mexico, his student-athletes won a combined 16 Mountain West Conference Championships.  

Prior to New Mexico, Mason interned with the University of Portland, assisting with implementing performance programs for many of their programs. 

Mason earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science - Motor Behavior from Pacific University (Ore.) and a master’s degree in Physical Education - Sports Administration from New Mexico.  He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
