Daire O'Riordan is entering his second year on the sidelines for the Panthers. The team finished 8-8-3 in his first season as an assistant coach where they fell short in the championship round of the 2022 GLIAC Tournament to Saginaw Valley (2-3).

O'Riordan played all five collegiate seasons with the Panthers prior to coaching, finished his senior year with a great list of accolades. Being named First Team All-GLIAC as an at-large selection, O'Riordan was also named Third Team All-Midwest Region by the United Soccer Coaches organization. He played and started in all 20 matches (one of two players to start and play all matches) and finished with five goals on 51 shots total. HIs only scored goal of the season came up big for the Panthers as it was tallied in the 1-0 victory against Saginaw Valley State in the 2021 GLIAC Tournament (Nov. 12) that advanced DU to the semifinals. O'Riordan would also be the team's leading player in minutes played with 1,842 total.

As a junior, he was named First Team All-GLIAC in nine matches played (844 minutes). He finished second in individual points amongst his teammates (seven) and was the co-leading scorer with three goals. O'Riordan's final goal came against Ashland University in the 2020 GLIAC Tournament Finals, although the team would lose 3-1.

Named Third Team All-Region by United Soccer Coaches as a junior, O'Riordan was also named All-GLIAC First Team and selected as the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 7 and GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 23. He played and started in 19 matches for a total of 1,709 minutes (led team), tied for second overall on the team with five goals and tallied three assists, and had two game-winning goals against Upper Iowa on Oct. 27 and Ashland in the GLIAC Quarterfinals on Nov. 11.

O'Riordan was one of three players to start all 17 games his sophomore year, and was second on the team in minutes (1,597). He also had three assists, recorded 30 shots, total and was named All-GLIAC Honorable Mention.

In his first year in a Panther uniform, O'Riordan played and started in 18 matches in midfield.. In those matches, he scored two goals and added six assists for a total of 10 points. He scored his first collegiate goal versus Bellarmine on Sept. 2 as his second goal was a game-winner in overtime against Northwood University (Oct. 15) with two seconds remaining on the clock. O'Riordan received his first GLIAC honors that year as he was named to Second Team All-GLIAC.

O'Riordan prepped at Ballincollig Community School in Ireland and played under head coach John Buttimer. He averaged one goal per match and was named Sportsperson of the Year in 2016 at Ballincollig. He also served as team captain in 2016-17 and competed twice in school tournament in France.
