Dan Yates joined the men's soccer program as an assistant coach for the 2023 season.  He brings with him a wealth of experience, most recently as an assistant for Steel City FC Men's First team, who compete in the NPSL.  He helped coach the team to a 2023 Conference Championship, as well as a Midwest Conference Finalist.  The program also qualified for the 2024 US Open Cup.  Yates is also the current Performance Phase leader for u17-u19 at Steel City FC (formerly Pittsburgh Hotspurs & Arsenal FC of Pittsburgh).

Yates was also a volunteer assistant at Robert Morris where he helped lead the men's program to back-to-back Horizon League Tournaments.  He was also the Deer Lakes High School Head Coach in 2019-20 where he led the program to two WPIAL finals, one PIAA State finals, while winning the 2020 WPIAL Championship, the first in school history.

Yates studied Soccer Coaching, Administration & Development at the University of South Wales, in the United Kingdom, through a blended learning course while also coaching in the USA.

He is a UEFA B licensed coach.
