Erik Sundsted in in his 15th season as an assistant coach for the Babson men’s soccer program in 2023.

During his time with the program, the Beavers have won 173 games, claimed seven NEWMAC tournament championships, eight regular season titles, and have reached the NCAA Tournament 10 times. He is honored to have coached six All-Americans, eight conference players of the year, and numerous all-league and All-New England players.

A graduate of Syracuse University, Sundsted enjoyed tremendous success on the field, starting at midfield and forward for three nationally-ranked teams. He currently holds the SU school records for most goals and most total points in a game and helped lead the Orange to an NCAA Tournament appearance and the school's second Big East Conference Championship.

He also played his freshman year at Ohio Wesleyan University, where he started at forward and led the team in assists during a campaign in which they were ranked fifth in the nation and advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals.

Sundsted continued to play after college at the professional and semi-professional level for the Torrance Aztecs (Los Angeles, CA) and Faialense SC (Boston, MA). Since then, he has remained active as a player for various premier teams in New England. He is currently a TV Color Analyst for NCAA games broadcast on ESPN3, NESN, Stadium Network and various conference TV platforms, and is a former Major League Soccer TV and Radio Color Commentator with the New England Revolution and USL Pro League.

A Program Director in the real estate housing industry and a small business owner, Erik is a native of Pittsford, NY and was inducted into both the Pittsford Athletic Hall of Fame and New York State Section V Soccer Hall of Fame in 2021. He is married with two children in college and resides in Natick, Mass.
