Jake Douvas is in his first season as an assistant coach for the Presbyterian College men’s soccer program. Douvas came to PC after spending the previous year with Major League Soccer’s New England Revolution. He was a part of the Wofford coaching staff with Coach Finotti for three years before his time with the Revolution.

“I would like to welcome Jake to PC,” Finotti said. “Having worked previously with Jake for three years, I look forward to his impact on our program's culture, operations, and performance.  Jake has gained valuable experience at the NCAA Division 1 and USL 2 levels, as well as the professional level with the New England Revolution this past year. Jake will prove to be a wonderful fit for me, our players, and our athletic department as his core principle is to serve others.”

For the past year, Douvas was the video analyst for the New England Revolution 2 in MLS NEXT PRO. In that role, he helped scout upcoming opponents, provided match day analysis for the coaching staff, and assisted with academy training sessions.

Douvas was on the Wofford coaching staff as an assistant coach with Coach Finotti from 2020-22.

During his time at Wofford, he worked with the SC United Bantams in the USL League 2, where he assisted in training and activation for the team and pre/post-match video analysis. The Bantams captured the 2021 South Central Conference championship during this time. He was also an assistant coach for the SC United FC ECNL ’06 team for the 2019-20 season.

Before SC United, he spent the 2018 season as an assistant coach for Quincy College in Massachusetts, helping Quincy make an NCJAA postseason appearance. In 2018, he coached at Gann Academy leading them to the 2018 MBIL championship and the NEPSAC semifinals. He began his coaching career with the GPS Massachusetts for three seasons.

Douvas played for the Rhode Island Reds FC in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) from 2015-17 and helped them to a third-place finish in the Northeast Conference in 2016. He also played for the New Hampshire Bobcats in the UPSL and played in the U-19 USYS Region I 2015 championships after winning the Rhode Island state championship.

The Lexington, Massachusetts native graduated from Bentley University with a bachelor’s degree in business management in 2018 and a master’s degree in sports management from the University of South Carolina in 2020.

Douvas holds a USSF “B” coaching license and a Welsh FA “C” coaching license.

"I am honored to become a part of the Presbyterian College Men's Soccer staff,” Douvas said. “My sincere gratitude goes to Coach Finotti for extending this opportunity to me. Having forged a strong connection with him during our time together at Wofford College, the prospect of contributing to the program's trajectory and working with the talented players fills me with immense excitement. The experience gained last year at the New England Revolution has further fueled my passion, and I believe it's the perfect time to take the next step in my journey alongside someone I deeply respect."
