Jim Tursi enters his 14th year at Lewis & Clark and second season as the head men's soccer coach in the fall of 2023. Tursi was tabbed to lead men's soccer in their return to varsity play in October of 2021. The 2022 season was the program's first varsity season since the Fall of 1991.

During the 2023 season, Lewis & Clark men's soccer earned their first result since elevating back to varsity status. The Pioneers posted a 0-0 tie against George Fox University on October 25. The Pioneers showed tremendous progress throughout the season, including scoring six of their seven goals in the final 11 games.

Tursi is a staple in the Pacific Northwest soccer scene after spending nearly 50 years in the area as a player and coach. Over the course of his 30+ seasons of collegiate coaching, he has amassed over 350 career victories, won 11 conference titles and been named Coach of the Year five times.

In his first season coaching the men's soccer program, Tursi guided a squad of 19 first-year players through a 16-game varsity schedule. The Pioneers played seven games against future conference foes and the rest against a combination of Division II, NAIA and community college competition. Lewis & Clark earned their lone win on September 11, when they defeated Edmonds Community College 1-0. Andrés Soto Hernandez scored a free kick goal midway through the second half and Ben Tallent and Declan Cloutier combined for an eight-save shutout.
