Karen Vassalluzzo begins her 15th season as the Rider University assistant athletic trainer in 2016-17. 

After graduating in 2000 from the University of Rhode Island, Vassalluzzo went on to earn her Master of education in Athletic Training from the University of Virginia in 2001.

A certified athletic trainer since 2000, Vassalluzzo was a student athletic trainer at URI as an undergraduate, and served as a graduate assistant in the UVA sports medicine department while obtaining her Master's degree.

Vassalluzzo's responsibilities include men’s soccer and men’s and women’s swimming and diving and the administration of Rider's drug testing program in conjunction with the NCAA.  Vassalluzzo also supervises the graduate assistant trainer program and provides additional coverage for baseball as needed.

Karen resides in Mount Laurel, New Jersey with her husband, Daryl, and their children, Will, Ryan and Sophia.
