Laurence Hutchinson returned to Mount Aloysius as the Co-Head Men's and Women's Soccer Coach, following the 2019 season, primarily working with the Men's Soccer team. He has since taken the Mountie Soccer program to new heights, having won their second consecutive AMCC Championship in 2022.

In 2023, Hutchinson led the Mounties to another record-breaking season. The Mounties finished with a 12-2-4 record, won the AMCC regular season championship, hosted the AMCC Championship for only the 2nd time in history, and had a .530 strength of schedule which was the highest in Region VII outside of the OAC and NCAC conferences. They finished as runners-up in the AMCC Tournament after losing a penalty shootout in the Championship game and fell short of an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Mounties broke almost every program record for single-season and single-game and were ranked for seven out of eight weeks in the Region VII rankings, getting as high as sixth. They were ranked top five nationally in multiple categories including #1 in scoring offense, #5 in goals allowed per game, #1 in points per game, and #3 in goal differential. Hutchinson mentored ten All-Conference members which is the first time all ten nominated players have received the honor. Four Mounties made the AMCC First Team and Juan Camacho was named the AMCC Offensive Player of the Year, marking the second straight year that a Mountie garnered the honor. Camacho was also named National Player of the Week on two separate occasions and was ranked #2 nationally in total assists while also breaking the program's single-season assists and points records. Juan Camacho and Louis Bez were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region VII teams.

2022 saw the Mounties take home the third AMCC championship in program history and one of the greatest NCAA Tournament appearances from a Mount Aloysius team. Hutchinson led the team to a winning record after playing a strong non-conference schedule. The team would go on to an undefeated conference schedule, earning a tie with Penn State Behrend and subsequently a tie for the Conference Regular Season Championship. They would go on to tie with Penn State Behrend in the AMCC Championship game, before winning on penalty kicks and earning their second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. Facing #19/11 Ohio Northern, the Mounties went the distance, going 110 minutes tied at one. While they would go on to lose 4-2 in penalty kicks, it was the closest a Mountie Soccer team has come to winning an NCAA Tournament game. For the season, Hutchinson mentored eight All-Conference members, including AMCC Offensive Player of the Year Tevin Beadle, while also guiding the Mountie Soccer program to their fifth consecutive AMCC Team Peak Performance award for the highest GPA in their sport.

In Hutchinson's first full, non-COVID, season roaming the sideline as Head Coach, he led them to a winning season against strong competition. The Mounties earned #3 seed in the AMCC Tournament after a 6-2 AMCC record, falling to Medaille and Penn State Behrend, the top two seeds. Hutchinson led the team to five wins in their final six regular season games and stretched the momentum into the AMCC Tournament. After beating sixth-seeded Pitt-Greensburg in the First Round, the Mounties would go on the road for the rest of the tournament. In the semi-finals, they earned a 2-1 overtime victory at Penn State Behrend, for their third straight victory and an appearance in the AMCC Championship game. Despite being forced to play a man down for the final 58 minutes, the Mounties scored two short-handed goals on their way to a 2-1 victory over the top seed, Medaille, to win the program's second AMCC Championship. The Mounties fell in the NCAA Tournament to #8 Messiah, 2-0, but played tough after giving up a goal less than two minutes into the contest. Hutchinson was responsible for guiding seven All-AMCC selections, with four of them landing on the First Team. They also continued their string of excellence in the classroom, earning their fourth consecutive AMCC Team Peak Performance Award.

Hutchinson's first year as the Head Coach was a whirlwind, as only months after he was hired, COVID-19 changed the world landscape. The Mounties were able to play one official contest in the spring of 2021, as well as a few non-official matchups. Ultimately though, the official 2020 season was cancelled.

Coach Hutchinson spent the 2018 season as the Associate Head Soccer Coach for the men's and women's soccer programs, after being promoted from assistant coach during the summer of 2018.

In his first season as Associate Head Coach in 2018, Hutchinson helped the men's program win 15 games and advance to the AMCC Playoff semifinals. On the women's side, the team advanced to the AMCC Championship Game for the first time in program history and won a program record 14 games.

Hutchinson previously spent two seasons as assistant coach for the men's program at Mount Aloysius. During his first two seasons, the Mounties won a combined 26 games including a program-record 16 wins during the 2017 season. Mount Aloysius also clinched back-to-back AMCC Playoff appearances.

Hailing from Middlesborough, England, Hutchinson arrived at Mount Aloysius after a four-year playing career at Tennessee Wesleyan, where he earned All-Conference honors and helped lead the team to a NAIA National Tournament Appearance during his freshman season.

Hutchinson graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan in May 2016 with a degree in Exercise Science. He also earned his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Mount Aloysius in May 2018.
