Segura, a scholar-athlete on one of Muse’s former teams at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, was previously on the Lobos staff and a match observer for the El Paso Locomotive, a franchise in the United Soccer League before coming to McMurry in August 2023. As a student and graduate assistant, he was with SRSU from February 2021 through July 2023, helping lead them to one American Southwest Conference postseason tournament appearance. Segura received his Bachelor’s degree from Sul Ross State in May 2021 in physical education and is seeking to conclude a Master’s degree in sports administration from SRSU in August 2023.

“To have an individual like Lorenzo on our staff provides so many opportunities,” Muse said. “We both know what we want to see from a successful soccer program moving forward, having had a player-coach relationship at Sul Ross. I know our scholar-athletes will see his value in a short period.”
