A long-time soccer coach, Lou Stazi returns to the Saint Michael's men's soccer program for his sixth season as an assistant coach in 2023, and fifth since returning to the program after last tutoring the team's goalkeepers in 2012. He is also a goalkeeper coach with the Vermont-based Nordic Soccer Club.Stazi has had various stints as an assistant coach of men's and women's teams, specializing with goalkeepers at many of his stops, at Norfolk (Va.) Academy, Saint Peter's (N.J.) University, Seton Hall (N.J.) University, Rutgers University - Newark (N.J.) and the University of Vermont. Stazi helped UVM reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2007. Between 1999 and 2003, Stazi coached youth players in New Jersey through United Soccer Academy, Players Development Academy, Match Fit Academy, and the New Jersey Olympic Development Program.Stazi played in Seconda Catagoria in Italy in 1993 and remains an active player, including having won Vermont Amateur Soccer League (VASL) titles in 2015 and 2016.
