Luke Carson joined the Lees-McRae Athletic Training staff in January 2013 as an assistant athletic trainer and assumed the position of head athletic trainer in August 2019.  

He currently serves as the athletic trainer for men's soccer, men's basketball, men's and women’s cycling, and the men's and women's track and field teams. Carson has previously worked with the men’s and women’s lacrosse and men’s and women’s cross country teams, as well as serving as an adjunct faculty member for the formerly CAATE accredited ATP from 2013-2018.  

Prior to LMC, Carson received his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Duquesne University (2011) in Pittsburgh, PA, and his Master of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion with a concentration in Fitness & Wellness from California University of PA (2012) in California, PA.

A native of Butler, PA, Luke resides in Banner Elk with his wife Jenn. They are the proud parents of their only son, Gentry.
