Mark Fish joined coach Bobby McColl as the men’s soccer assistant in August of 2023.

Fish brings more than 30 years of soccer coaching experience to the Highlanders sideline, including 10 seasons at the helm of the Roberts Wesleyan men’s soccer program.

During his time at Roberts, Fish’s teams won a total of 102 games and compiled a .540 winning percentage, ranking him third and second in program history, respectively, for coaches that have served more than five years.  Over the course of his tenure, his teams reached the postseason nine times, advancing to the national tournament six times.

Fish was named NCCAA Eastern Region Coach of the Year four times, American Mideast Conference Coach of the Year twice, and NAIA Region Coach of the Year in 2011.

Prior to coaching at Roberts, Fish had already accumulated over 12 years of coaching experience, including 13 seasons as a collegiate assistant, and five at the high school ranks.  Since his time with the Raiders, Fish has remained active as a coach, serving as an assistant at Fairport, and continuing to coach club soccer, as well.

After earning the Syracuse University Rookie of the Year Award in 1987, Fish went on to play soccer and earn a bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology from Alfred University, where he was named a Regional All-American in 1990.  He remained at Alfred for two more years, earning a master’s degree in counselor education while serving as an assistant soccer coach.  In 1999 he completed a marriage and family therapy training program at the University of Rochester.

Fish holds a USSF U.S. National “B” License, permanent certification as a school counselor in New York State, and is a New York State licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

In 2014 Fish was inducted into the Section V Boys Soccer Hall of Fame.

He continues to work as a school counselor at the Johanna Perrin Middle School, and resides with his family in Fairport, New York.
