Former Retriever standout goalkeeper Quantrell Jones was named Director of Operations in the fall of 2023.

Jones capped his UMBC athletic tenure by earning the 2022-23 Male Retriever of the Year award. Formerly known as the UMBC Outstanding Senior Athlete award, the Retrievers of the Year are presented to seniors or graduate students that have competed for at least three years at UMBC and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

The Baltimore native's 29 victories and 14 shutouts recorded are both sixth in program history, while his 220 saves rank eighth on UMBC's all-time list.

He earned his degree in sociology in December, 2022.

Jones was a two-time team captain, a two-time America East Honor Roll member and a Second Team All Conference goalkeeper in the spring of 2021.
