Scott Reber is in his ninth season as head coach for the Roberts Wesleyan men's soccer program.
Reber guided the Redhawks to another East Coast Conference tournament this past season, making it to the semifinals where they were eliminated in PKs.
The 2022 season came to a close at the National Christian College Athletic Association National Tournament held in Kissimmee, Florida. The Redhawks advanced to the finals, taking second place for the third time in program history. The Redhawks ended their campaign with an 11 win season and ranked No. 5 in the nation by the NCCAA.
Reber has coached many players who have been recognized both in the classroom and on the field. During his tenure, all but one team has been awarded the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award which recognizes teams that maintain a team GPA of 3.0 or higher and multiple NCCAA Scholar Athlete Awards. On the field, Reber’s players have been awarded ECC Player of the Week, ECC Rookie of the Year, ECC All-Conference players, NCCAA Regional players, NCCAA Regional player of the Year, and NCCAA and NCAA All-Americans.
A 1986 graduate of Roberts, Reber played for Roberts Wesleyan and was a member of the 1985 East Region Division 1 NCCAA Championship team that qualified for and competed in the NCCAA National Soccer Championship – a first for Roberts. He won many honors as a player and was named to the NAIA District All-Star Team. He was awarded the Midwest Regional Coach of the Year this past season.
Prior to being named head coach, Reber was an assistant, twice, taking a break in between while his children attended college. During those years as an assistant, RWU was ranked in the NAIA Top 25, NCCAA Top 10 and went to the NCCAA National Tournament four times (taking second place in the 2002), made an appearance in the NAIA National Tournament, and won the American Mideast Conference (AMC) Tournament title in 2011.
Reber brings more than 25 years of coaching experience to the Redhawks and has found success at every level. He also served as President and as Director of Coach and Player Development for a local Soccer Club. Reber holds a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and the NSCAA National Youth Diploma.
Scott currently resides in North Chili with his wife, Karen. They have three grown children and two grandkids.
