Steven James has been announced as the Graduate Assistant Manager of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men’s soccer team in 2023.

Prior to his arrival in Greensboro, James competed professionally in Sweden from March 2018 to December 2019 before heading to England to play in the Conference South for Eastbourne Borough FC for three seasons from 2019 - 2022.

James graduated from West Virginia University in 2018 with his Bachelor’s of Science in Sport Management, where he also played soccer for the Mountaineers. James earned several soccer honors including, MAC Second Team All-Conference in 2017, Academic All-MAC Conference in 2017, and the MAC Distinguished Scholar Athletes in 2017, while also being named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and Garret Ford Academic Honor Roll.

Prior to his stint with the Mountaineers, James earned his Associate in Arts General College from Louisburg College in Louisburg, N.C, where as a soccer player, he served as captain and helped his team to earn the NJCAA Division I National Champions title.
