Tom Bellen is in his fifth season as an assistant coach for the Saint Anselm College men's soccer program in 2021.

The regionally-ranked Hawks posted a 7-9 record in 2019 with Field's assistance, the squad's highest win total in a decade. Beginning the year with four straight victories, Saint Anselm's hot start was most recently accomplished by the Northeast-10 Conference and ECAC Division II Championship-winning 1999 squad who posted a 4-0 record in its first four games.

In the team's first four games, the Hawks rattled off 14 goals and owned a winning record at home, notching five of the team's seven victories in the friendly confines of Melucci Field. Field also coached an All-NE10 Rookie Team pick, the program’s first honoree since 2015.

The 2018 season featured only one defeat by three goals - the remaining losses were by one or two goal margins. The Hawks secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over championship-bound Southern Conn. St. in the season finale.

In 2017, Saint Anselm finished 3-11-2 overall with four of its losses coming at the hands of nationally-ranked teams. The Hawks upended No. 21 Franklin Pierce at Melucci Field on Sept. 26 for the program's first win against a nationally-ranked opponent in nearly seven years (Oct. 7, 2010). Saint Anselm remained in contention for its first berth in the NE10 Men's Soccer Championship since 2009 until the final week of the regular season. Bellen also helped coach senior Dan Kelly and junior Emmet O'Callaghan to spots on the All-NE10 Third Team, the program's first All-NE10 honorees since 2014.

Bellen is the owner of FutsalNH, the only US Soccer-affiliated futsal league in New Hampshire, which runs futsal leagues across the state. He helped introduce futsal to the state and built the largest program in the area with nationally successful teams and players, including over 20 players who made United States Youth Futsal (USYF) youth national teams. Futsal is a variant of five-a-side soccer, which is played primarily indoors on a smaller, hard court.

He has spent the last 20 years as a trainer/coach for Nashua World Cup Soccer Club and has been a member of the United States Youth Futsal coaching staff since 2013. Bellen also has 18 years of experience coaching at Souhegan High School and has been part of multiple state high school and club championships during his career.

A 1992 graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Bellen saw his playing career cut short after tearing his ACL during preseason training at UNH.

Bellen holds a National Soccer Coaches Association of America Natoinal Diploma and a United States Youth Futsal Level 3 certification.

He lives in Merrimack with his wife, Jennifer, and daughter, Cameron.
