Tyler Botte joined the LIU men's soccer program as assistant coach in the spring of 2023.

He arrived from Molloy University, where he led the program to the 2021 East Coast Conference postseason title and an NCAA Tournament appearance, and won or drew 19 of 21 games against conference opponents spanning two seasons as the head coach.

Molloy's two years under Botte were the most decorated back-to-back seasons in program history.

His 2022 Lions team became the program's first to earn an ECC regular-season title, going undefeated in league play at 6-0-2. Molloy had five first-team All-ECC selections that season.

Botte had been named Molloy's head coach in May 2020, making him one of the youngest head coaches in NCAA Division II at the time, at 27 years old. He  compiled a 17-11-13 overall record as a head coach at the Division II school.

He previously spent a combined six seasons as an associate head coach and assistant coach with Molloy.

Botte played collegiately at Hofstra, tallying 12 goals and six assists in 67 matches.

He earned second-team All-America honors in 2012 and served as captain. He also played in USL League Two with the Long Island Rough Riders.
