Abbey Frail joined the Colgate women's soccer staff in March 2023.

Frail comes to Colgate after one year at Wright State University, where she worked primarily with the team’s goalkeepers and back line. During the 2022 season, the Raiders posted an 8-7-3 record, including a 5-2-3 mark in the Horizon League. Wright State earned the No. 4 seed in the Horizon League Championship and advanced to the quarterfinals. The team also had five players earn all-league honors.

Prior to Wright State, Frail spent two seasons at her alma mater Wingate University. This included a stint as the interim head coach in 2021 when she led the team to an 11-6 record.

Frail was a standout goalkeeper during her playing career, helping the Bulldogs reach the Southern Atlantic Conference Tournament title match in three of her four seasons.

In 2019, she helped guide Wingate to the NCAA regional title game as the Bulldogs finished the season ranked 16th in the nation.

Frail earned multiple accolades both on and off the field during her collegiate career. She garnered First Team All-South Atlantic Conference honors as a senior while picking up All-Region recognition from the United Soccer Coaches and D2CCA.

She received CoSIDA First Team Academic All-America and United Soccer Coaches Third Team Scholar All-America honors as a senior and was named the 2019 Women's Soccer SAC Scholar-Athlete. She was also an NCAA Woman of the Year nominee in 2020.

Additionally, Frail earned a spot on the Wingate President's List every semester and the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll every year.

She graduated summa cum laude from Wingate in May 2019. Frail logged a 3.92 GPA, majoring in history with a minor in political science. She earned her master’s in sport management from Wingate in 2020.
