Abby Erlemeier was hired as VMI’s Director of Ticketing in June of 2022.

Erlemeier graduated with a degree in business administration from the University of Richmond in 2021 with a concentration in marketing and was a member of the Spiders women’s soccer team. She earned her Master’s of Sports Leadership degree from the VCU School of Business a year later and also earned a certification in sport technologies from Escuela Universitaria Real Madrid Universidad Europea in the summer of 2022.

Erlemeier served as a ticket assistant while at Richmond, managing over 50 inbound service calls and in-person transactions on a daily basis. She cultivated relationships with potential stakeholders in the greater Richmond community to persuade the purchase and attendance to Spiders’ home events. Erlemeier generated and executed leads that led to 506 new men’s basketball season ticket purchases, the highest number sold for a single season in program history and achieved a 97% renewal rate for men’s basketball season tickets for the 2021-2022 season. She also oversaw box office staff and served as the primary ticketing contact for select football, basketball, and lacrosse games.

While studying in Madrid, Erlemeier worked as a fan experience intern with Real Madrid C.F. She researched innovative new technologies that enhance the world of fan experience in sports and collaborated with a team to create a mock start-up business in fan experience for sports leagues across the globe. She networked with industry professionals at Real Madrid to get insight about marketing and sponsorship tactics.
