Assistant Athletic Trainer

Allisa Gurtner, MS, LAT, ATC

Gurtner joined Cornell's sports medicine staff in March 2021. A native of Middleton, Wis., Gurtner attended Illinois Wesleyan University and earned a bachelor's degree in psychology.  She received her master's in athletic training at Franklin College in 2020.

At Illinois Wesleyan, Gurtner played for the women's soccer team, which sparked her interest in athletic training. As a senior, she worked as a student medical assistant with women's soccer and swimming and diving.

In the summer of 2019, Gurtner completed an internship with the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women's Soccer League.  At Franklin College, she worked with volleyball, men's and women's basketball, football, men's and women's soccer, track and cross country, and baseball at both the collegiate and high school levels.

Gurtner is excited to join the Ramily and help her athletes be successful.
