Amanda Evans has been named the head women's soccer coach at New Mexico Highlands University. That announcement was made on March 14th by Shanna Halalilo and Jim Deisler, Co-Athletic Directors at New Mexico Highlands University.

"We're excited about Amanda's leadership for our soccer program and look forward to the impact she's going to have on campus," said Shanna Halalilo

Evans comes to NMHU after spending the past six seasons at Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Virginia. Prior to her tenure at MBU, she was the head coach of Compton College (CA) from 2014-2018, and the head coach of Northland College (WI) from 2011-2013. Coach Evans started the Women's Soccer program at Salt Lake Community College in 2009.

The Wisconsin native holds a premier diploma from United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA). She played at collegiately at Hawaii Pacific University and had semi-pro training in Utah. She earned a master of science in special education at Western Governors University and a bachelor’s in exercise and sports science and teaching physical education at the University of Utah.

Coach Evans is a nationally recognized coach who has twice presented at the United Soccer Convention and she is the co-founder of #MomsWhoCoach group.

"We are excited to help build the soccer program to record breaking success" said Coach Evans. "I am very excited to join the NMHU family."
