Brian Diaz enters his fourth season with the Golden Grizzlies, and was promoted to associate head coach in the fall of 2020. Diaz came to Oakland as an assistant and recruiting coordinator for the Golden Grizzlies in June 2017.

Diaz has garnered 14 years of collegiate coaching experience both at the DI and DII level. Diaz has been the head coach at two DII programs with stops at Converse College and most recently, Upper Iowa University. Diaz also has been on the Olympic Development Program (ODP) coaching staff since 2006.

Diaz earned a bachelor of arts in sports management and general management from Tusculum College in 2002, following a master of education in educational leadership from University of South Alabama in 2012.
