Chris Gaskin was named the sixth head coach of the Marian University women's soccer program in July of 2022.
Gaskin brings with him a wealth of coaching experience across a variety of levels including college, high school, and club. Most recently, Gaskin served as the head women's soccer coach at NAIA Iowa Wesleyan for three seasons. He was able to turn the program around at IWU leading the Tigers to a berth into the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Tournament in his final year after Iowa Wesleyan won just three games the year prior to his arrival. Four student-athletes would earn all-conference recognition including a pair of second-team selections.
Prior to his time at IWU, Gaskin served as the head coach at Green Mountain College, a former NCAA Division III institution in Vermont. In his lone season at the helm of the Eagles program, he would lead Green Mountain College to a Northeastern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NIAC) Championship and the first winning season for the program since 2006. His collegiate coaching experience also saw a two-year stint at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's soccer programs. The Cardinals would have seven all-conference selections between both programs during his tenure.
Gaskin played collegiately at Green Mountain College for four seasons where he played in 58 games scoring eight goals with six assists. He was a highly-decorated student-athlete with the Eagles earning three All-North Atlantic Conference selections, Green Mountain College Male Athlete of the Year honors as a sophomore, and the GMC James M. Pollock Senior Male Athlete of the Year. After earning his bachelors of science in sociology from Green Mountain College in 2013, he would take his talents overseas. Gaskin played two seasons in Scotland, the first for Riverside Football Club and the second for the University of Stirling. He would serve as a team captain for the University of Stirling and earned his masters in sports psychology in 2015. The University of Stirling went on to finish second at the Scottish National Futsal Finals.
His coaching certifications include a United Soccer Coaches advanced national diploma, USSF F License, and Scottish FA Levels 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3.
