Coach Cervantes has been coaching for over 13 years both youth, collegiately and professionally. She comes in to the CSUMB program after developing the first NJCAA Arizona Women soccer Program in 2022- 2023.

Prior to her coaching collegiately, she was the Director of Coaching of  EL Paso Juventus FC, USL Academy,  and Olympic Development National and Regional Program coach for New Mexico Youth Soccer. 

She earned her Master’s degree in Soccer and Sports Science at Ohio University. She earned bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Physical Education from Eastern New Mexico University.

Coach Cervantes said she credits her introduction to the game to her father and family and is grateful to her mentors.  They are all great examples of leadership, perseverance, courage, dedication, and commitment to the sport. I am where I am today, because of them, day-to-day they continue to share their knowledge, advice, and guidance, and I am beyond blessed and humbled to have them be part of my life.

Coach Cervantes enjoys being a mom, reading, teaching, studying and hiking. Cervantes has coached several players who are part of the Mexican National Team and Honduras National Team. She has also racked up some impressive awards, including:  

2010, 2011 – MVP EL Paso Player of the Year  

2011 – Conference of the Carolinas Conference Champion   

2019, 2020, 2021 – El Paso Coach of the Year   

2022 – 30 Under 30 Class with United Soccer Coaches 

2023 - Latina Award of Excellence United Soccer Coaches
