Dan Gaspar returns for a fourth season as Trinity College's goalkeeper coach for the women's soccer programs in 2023. Exceptionally decorated, Gaspar has 30 years of coaching and playing experience, having worked most recently with the Iran Men's National Team as a goalkeeper coach, assistant coach, and team administrator. A South Glastonbury, Connecticut, native, Gaspar graduated from the University of Hartford in 1978.

Gaspar has spent time all over the world, working with both national squads and some of the top clubs in Europe and Asia.  He was a long-time assistant to former Real Madrid Head Coach and Manchester United Assistant Carlos Queiroz. Gaspar was with the Iranian National Team under Queiroz from 2011 to 2018, helping the club finish first in its qualification group and third in the group stage behind Portugal and Spain. He also spent time with the Portuguese National Team from 2009 to 2010, working as a technical staff member during the team's 2010 World Cup qualification process. During his most recent stint with Portugal, the team was ranked #3 in the world by FIFA. Gaspar also worked with the Portuguese team in 1992, 1993, 2002, and 2003.

Coaching in the Nutmeg State during the early-mid 2000's, Gaspar served as the head coach of his alma mater and led the Hartford Hawks to three straight America East Conference tournament appearances and a semifinal appearance between 2005-2010. His head coaching stints in Connecticut also included two years with the Connecticut Wolves of the United Soccer League and a year as the associate head coach at Central Connecticut State University.  In his playing days, Gaspar enjoyed a successful career as Hartford's goalkeeper, and was a first round selection in the American Soccer Professional League.

Gaspar was the goalkeeper coach for Sporting Lisbon in the Portuguese First Division in 1995, an assistant coach in Japan's J League in 1996, and worked as a goalkeeper coach and SAFA technical consultant for the South African National Team in 2001. He returned to the Primeria Liga in Portugal, where he worked as a goalkeeper coach for SL Benfica from 2003 to 2004 and FC Porto from 2004-2005.  He founded “Star Goalkeeper Academy” in 1990, which has become one of the most successful of its kind.  A member of the New England Soccer Hall of Fame, the University of Hartford Hall of Fame, and the Connecticut Soccer Association Hall of Fame, Gaspar holds his USSF “A” license, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, and USYSA National Youth License.
