Danielle Jones enters her first year as Interim Head Coach of the CSUDH Women’s Soccer team after serving as the lead assistant coach last season. Jones was instrumental in the planning and execution of the Toros season last year.

Jones begins her stewardship of the Toros after successful stops as an assistant coach at Cal tech Institute of Technology (2019-2022), Pasadena City College (2021-2022), and California Athletic Soccer club (2022), and also has head coaching experience at South Pasadena High School (2018-2022) and Elsie Allen High School (2016-2017).

Under her leadership, Jones’ teams have always had a high priority on academic personal success. Her team at South Pasadena High School boasted a collective 3.5 team GPA.

“I'm a big advocate for players' mental health and creating a supportive and confidence building culture in my programs.  I pride myself in guiding players to be expressive, confident and secure in themselves as people and their abilities as athletes.   Making sure our team is happy, healthy and competitive is what drives my programs to be successful,” said Jones.

A native of La Quinta, California, Jones has traveled quite the journey that brought her to Carson. Beginning at La Quinta High School, she played four years before moving on to San Bernardino Valley College for two years. After accepting a Division II offer from Sonoma State University, Jones catapulted her way to WPSL SoCal Crush for a season before making the switch to the sidelines full time.

Jones finds joy in creating art; painting, drawing, and home design, making killer homemade bread, thrifting vintage furniture, and finding the best tacos in LA with her partner Alex and 15-year-old pitbull, Kaiya.
