David Preston was appointed strength and conditioning coordinator in the Alfred University Department of Athletics prior to the 2017-18 academic year.

As strength and conditioning coordinator, Preston is responsible for working with the AU coaching staff and student-athletes to implement new and enhance existing strength training programs for all the Saxon varsity teams.

Preston has been an International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) Certified personal trainer since October 2016, specializing in strength building, muscle gain and fat loss. In his private business, Preston Personal Training, he works with clients seeking to lose weight; recover from injuries; or build strength, speed and endurance.

He works full-time in the oil field industry, holding a Level 3 Operator position with C&D Production Specialist Co., Inc. In addition, he is a freelance graphic designer.

Preston earned an associate’s degree in graphic design from Empire State College in 2011 and a bachelor’s degree in instructional design, also from Empire State College, in 2012. A native of Belfast, NY, he resides in Cuba, NY.
