David Windmiller, originally from Sautee, Georgia, joined the coaching staff for men's and women's soccer following a two-year run as the men's team's goalkeeper. A 2023 alum of Converse University, he was the first to suit up in a goalkeeper's kit for the Converse University men's soccer team.

Windmiller has previous coaching experience at Tallulah Falls School in northwest Georgia where he served as the goalkeepers' coach during the 2021 season. His starting keeper at Tallulah Falls earned first team all-region honors.

In two seasons in the box for the Valkyries, Windmiller played a complete game in 36 of 38 total contests. The Valkyries won the two games in which he did not spend the full game time in the box by a combined score of 12-2. Windmiller was First Team All-Conference Carolinas following his fifth-year season in 2022. In 1,674 minutes in the box, Windmiller achieved a goals allowed average of 0.84 and held a 13-1-5 record. He ranked first in shutouts, shutouts per game, save percentage and goals against average. He was sixth in saves and ninth in saves per game.

Windmiller was named the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week on Nov. 2, 2021 and earned Converse Athlete of the Month honors in November 2022. He was the 2022 Conference Carolinas Tournament MVP.
