Patterson was hired as an assistant coach in April of 2024. Patterson returns to the women's soccer program after spending the past two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Mercer.

"We are excited to have Dylan back at Winthrop," said Smith. "Having played and captained at Winthrop she is very familiar with the program. Dylan will be a great representative of Winthrop University and our women's soccer program."

In three years at Mercer Patterson assisted with day-to-day administrative tasks as well as help and organize summer camps as well as lead fundraising initiatives. Her duties also included content creations for team social media platforms.

In her two seasons with the Bears the team boasted a record of 19-10-12.

In 2020-21 she was the operations manager for the Lazers Soccer Club (Peachtree City, Ga.) where she assisted the Executive Director in all aspects of administrative duties as well as assisting in coaching for a variety of rage groups club-wide.

Patterson played for the Eagles from 2016-19 before graduating in May of 2020 with a degree in sport management. Patterson played in 168 games over the course of her career. In addition to being a team captain, she was a two-time All-Big South Conference selection and a two-time All-Big South Tournament Team selection. In 2018 She played on the Philippines Women's National Team. Patterson also played for the Rochester Lady Lancers of the United Women's Soccer League and was team captain in 2017, 2019. In 2017 she garnered the UWS Iron Woman of the Year honor.
