Emily Kuo began as a volunteer for Academy of Art women's soccer in August 2023.

Currently a senior software engineer at CodeHS, Kuo also competes for the San Francisco Nighthawks.

A collegiate forward for Massachusetts Institute of Technology for four years, Kuo grew under the tutelage of Lauren Nadler as an associate head coach on staff. Kuo, who scored 13 of her 42 career goals in 2012, made 63 starts for the Engineers, registered 104 points (42 goals, 20 assists), scored 11 game-winners, was a four-time NEWMAC All-Conference First Team honoree, and would go on to be named the program's first NSCAA (now United Soccer Coaches) Third Team All-American. Among the program's top 10 in career goals, assists, and points, the NEWMAC 25th Anniversary Team honoree earned her bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering.

Prior to that, Kuo was a four-year varsity soccer starter and co-captain, three-time All-State and Player of the Year, and four-time All-Conference at University of Chicago Laboratory High School while also competing in cross country (four years), basketball (two years), and track and field (two years).
