Emily Willaert begins her eighth season as an assistant coach with the College of Saint Benedict soccer team in 2022.

In Willaert's first five seasons with the program, CSB has a 44-30-11 overall record, including a 29-20-5 mark in the MIAC. Willaert, a 2011 CSB alumnae, played four years of varsity soccer at CSB and was a part of the team’s 2007 run to the NCAA Tournament. She was a team captain as a senior and she scored four goals and recorded four assists that season.

Willaert, the 2010-11 MIAC nominee for the NCAA Sportsmanship Award, earned All-MIAC honors as a first year in 2007 and honorable mention accolades in 2008 and 2010. She graduated in 2011 with a degree in psychology.

After graduating from CSB, Willaert earned a master’s in sports science with dual emphasis in exercise physiology and biomechanics from St. Cloud State. She currently serves as the Director of Coaching and Player Development for the Central Minnesota Youth Soccer Association and Minnesota Olympic Development Staff.

Willaert, a Mankato, Minn., native, went to Mankato Loyola High School where she set school records for assists and goals in a career.
