Emma Peterson is in her first year as a sports information specialist for Yellowjacket Athletics in 2023-2024. She was awarded the Ethnics Minorities and Women in Sports grant from the NCAA. Peterson was named to the position July 18, 2023.
In addition to her department duties, Peterson is also in her first season as an assistant coach with the UW-Superior women’s hockey team under head coach Dan Laughlin.
Peterson completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She graduated with two degrees, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in business management with an emphasis in entrepreneurship in 2020, and a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing with an emphasis in analytics in 2022.
A native of Superior, Wis., Peterson also played five seasons with the Blugolds women's hockey team. In 121 games, Peterson scored 40 goals and added 40 assists for 80 points. A two-year captain for the Blugolds, Peterson was named All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) First Team in 2020 and 2021, while receiving all-conference honorable mention in 2022.
After graduation, Peterson worked under Nick Hoven, the assistant athletic director for media relations and sports information at UW-Eau Claire. Additionally, Peterson worked at a property management company while also serving as the assistant girl’s high school hockey coach for the Eau Claire Area Stars.
