Hannah Danielsen joined the Mountaineer athletic staff in May 2023 as assistant director of strength and conditioning for Olympic sports. She handles the strength and conditioning responsibilities for women’s soccer and men’s and women’s swimming and diving.

Most recently, she was head strength and conditioning coach for Pitt’s women’s basketball team.  Prior to that, she served one year as Mississippi State’s strength coach for women’s basketball and her extensive strength and conditioning experience includes stints at Wichita State, where she was assistant athletic director of health and wellness and associate head strength coach, at Arizona State, where she oversaw the strength and conditioning program for women’s basketball, soccer, lacrosse, softball and water polo, at Maryland, working with women’s volleyball and gymnastics, and at Utah, working with volleyball, baseball and men’s and women’s basketball.

Her collegiate athletic career includes two years at Division II Brigham Young University-Hawaii and two seasons at Mississippi State as a volleyball player. She was once named Capital One Player of the Week for the Bulldogs after leading the nation in hitting percentage that week.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Mississippi State in 2011.

Danielsen is certified with the National Strength & Conditioning Association and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist. Her other certifications are in yoga instruction, functional movement screening, trigger point performance therapy, CPR/AED and USA Weightlifting.

The Elk Point, South Dakota, native resides in Westover with her husband Jens, an offensive analyst for Mountaineer football.
