Jen Scanlon is in her 17th season as the head coach of the Pomona-Pitzer Women's Soccer program after joining the Sagehens in the fall of 2003.Scanlon currently holds a 200-127-39 record as a head coach with 17 years at Pomona-Pitzer and three years at Kenyon.  Her record at Pomona-Pitzer is 178-101-37.Scanlon had her best season in program history in 2019 at 20-2-2 overall, which featured a run inside the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament. the 2019 team found unprecedented success that included multiple program records including the most wins in program history (20), highest winning percentage (.875), most SCIAC wins (12), shutouts in a single season (20), and deepest run in the NCAA Tournament with the team's first-ever appearance in the Final Four surpassing the 2016 team that appeared in the Elite 8.  

During her tenure, Scanlon has been honored four times as the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Coach of the Year, as well as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) West Region Coach of the Year. She has guided the Sagehens to six SCIAC regular season championships and four SCIAC tournament titles, competing in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2005, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2021, and 2022.  Early in her tenure at Pomona-Pitzer, Scanlon guided the 2004 team to the second-best won-loss improvement in the nation.  

Off the field, her Pomona-Pitzer teams have ranked in the top three in the nation in team grade point average four times (with a combined 3.55 or better), including three second-place rankings. In the 2021-22 academic year, the Sagehens posted the second-highest GPA for men's and women's programs across all divisions in the NCAA with a GPA of 3.85.

Prior to coming to Pomona-Pitzer, Scanlon was the head coach at Kenyon College (Gambier, Ohio) for three and a half years. Scanlon also served as an assistant coach at Macalester (her alma mater) from 1996-1998 and as a graduate assistant at the University of New Hampshire from 1998-2000.

During her playing days at Macalester, Scanlon was a three-time All-American and two-time conference player of the year for the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). She was inducted into the Macalester College Athletic Hall of Fame. Scanlon still holds multiple scoring records at Macalester, including most goals (21) and points (52) in a season and most goals (69) and points (170) in a career.

Scanlon holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) “B” license and has experience coaching competitive club soccer and in the Olympic Development Program. She is a member of both the NSCAA and the USSF, and has served on the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer committee, including acting as the chair of the West Region and Great Lakes Regions.

Scanlon graduated from Macalester College (St. Paul, MN) in 1995 with a degree in History. She earned her M.S. in Kinesiology from the University of New Hampshire, with an emphasis on sport psychology.

A Professor of Physical Education in addition to her coaching duties, Scanlon earned the Claremont Colleges Lavender Graduation Outstanding Faculty/Staff Award. She served as Interim Director of Athletics and Chair of Physical Education from April 2019 – June 2020.Scanlon currently lives in Claremont with her wife, Liz, and their daughter Annika.
