Jody Lingafeldt enters her fifth season as assistant coach in 2023, after being named to the position as a member of Tracy Hamm's inaugural staff in May 2019.

Lingafeldt assisted Hamm and UC Davis to their best season in the Division I era in 2022. The most recent season saw five Aggies be recognized with All-Big West Honors, while as a team, the Aggies finished second in the Big West, their highest ranking to date, and dethroned a ranked opponent for the first time in program history.

Lingafeldt also helped lead UC Davis to one of its best seasons since 2015 at 10-8 in 2021, the second time in the last 21 seasons that the program has produced a double-digit win total and the first time in the Division 1 era.

Throughout Lingafeldt's tenure, the Aggies have seen a member of their team garner an All-Big West selection 12 times, including six first team selections.

“Jody is a fantastic asset to this program,” head coach Tracy Hamm said. “She is someone who embodies persistence, patience, and hard work. I’ve had the opportunity to work with Jody several times over the past few years and have witnessed the positive impact she can have with her teams, and individual players, in terms of both their development on the soccer field and empowering them to reach their goals off the field. We are infinitely lucky to have Jody on the staff.”

In addition to her on field duties, Lingafeldt also plays a large role in community outreach to local clubs and recruiting.

Lingafeldt joined UC Davis after spending two seasons with Dominican University in the PacWest conference.  During her stint at Dominican as the assistant coach, Lingafeldt also led the recruiting efforts.

With Lingafeldt at the helm as recruiting coordinator, she helped bring in the most elite recruiting classes in program history which led the Penguins to their highest win totals since joining the Division II level in 2011.

On top of her duties as assistant coach, developing training sessions and leading film analysis, Lingafeldt also directed the program’s academic support program that produced a program team GPA record of 3.51 at the end of the 2018 season.

Prior to Dominican, Lingafeldt spent 2014-16 as an assistant coach at Sonoma State, her second at stint at her alma mater, where she led the Seawolves to a CCAA title in 2015 and two trips to the NCAA Division II Tournament.

In 2016, Lingafeldt led Sonoma State to a 12-3-3 record and went 10-1-1 in the CCAA in a season that ended in a second consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. During her tenure, she mentored seven United Soccer Coaches All-Americans and 15 All-CCAA selections.

During her first stint with the Seawolves from 1998-2000, Lingafeldt helped lead Sonoma State to the 1998 CCAA title, the first in school history, and a trip to the NCAA Division II national finals in a year they went 22-2-1.

In addition to her collegiate experience, Lingafeldt has extensive experience working with some of the most elite youth clubs in the Western Region, and has also served on staff for the Olympic Development Program.

A native of Sacramento, Lingafeldt graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology Athletic Training from Sonoma State in 1999 and holds a masters degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University, Irvine.
