Joey Giamfortone assumed his role of Director of Compliance in August 2022. He serves as the lead compliance contact for men's & women's basketball, men's & women's soccer, and men's golf.  

Prior to USF, Giamfortone worked as the Assistant Director of Compliance for Liberty University from one year. He was the compliance contact for women's basketball, women's soccer, women's volley, and men's & women's tennis. 

Prior to Liberty, Giamfortone worked in a variety of roles in the compliance office at Georgia Southern University, upon leaving he was serving as Assistant Director of Compliance. In addition to his work responsibilities, he was selected by the Georgia Southern faculty and staff to serve on the Georgia Southern Staff Council.

Giamfortone began working in collegiate athletics as a student assistant in the Georgia Southern Athletics Ticket office in January 2014. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in sport management from Georgia Southern in May 2015. Giamfortone earned a master’s degree in sport management from Georgia Southern in July 2020
