John Penilton enters his first season as an assistant women's soccer coach at Pacific. 

A native Oregonian and born and raised in Portland, Penilton was fortunate enough as a kid to get the opportunity to play for FC Portland. After graduating from Jesuit High School, Penilton played collegiately for the University of San Diego. He then finished his academic journey at Portland State University, graduating with a Bachelors in Social Work. 

Penilton has been coaching at the club level for United PDX since 2019, and has been the coaching program manager for Portland Community Football Club since 2021. At the high school level, he serves as the head coach for McDaniel High School's girls soccer program.
