Joshua Sanderson begins his sixth season as an assistant soccer coach for the Blue Devil program in 2022.

Sanderson comes directly to the Blue Devils after working with the Cedar Valley Soccer Club in Cedar Falls, Iowa.  Sanderson directed the U5-U6 groups, but worked with all ages of boys and girls teams throughout his tenure from 2011-17. Sanderson coached the CVSC 1999/2000 Girls to the semi-finals of the Iowa State Cup at U15 and U16.

Sanderson was an assistant coach with the Wartburg College men's program from 2009-11, where the Knights advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament in 2009, and was a graduate assistant coach at Bemidji State University, working with the women's program.

Sanderson received his bachelor's in biology education from North Dakota State University, where he was a member of the school's men's soccer club. He received his masters from Bemidji State in sports studies. Sanderson currently works with the Woodbury Soccer Club. Sanderson holds a USSF B License, a USYS National Youth License, and a NSCAA Level 3 Goalkeeping Diploma.

Sanderson is also an instructor in the UW-Stout Kinesiology, Health, Food and Nutritional Science Department.
