Kevin Brennan was hired as an assistant coach for the Drake University women’s soccer team in Feb., 2016.

Brennan was previously the head men’s and women’s soccer coach at Cardinal Stritch University (NAIA) in Milwaukee, Wis. Brennan served as the men’s head coach for five seasons and as the women’s head coach for four seasons. He was a four-year letterwinner for the Wolves from 2003 to 2007. Brennan started his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant for both the Cardinal Stritch men’s and women’s soccer programs.

“Kevin is a great addition to our staff and athletic department,” Horner said. “He is an experienced coach that has proven to be successful. He knows how to help his student-athletes reach their potential, both individually and collectively, while valuing the student-athlete experience. We are looking forward to working with Kevin to utilize his strengths both on-and-off the field in our pursuit of championships.”

Brennan won 52 matches during his tenure as the men’s head coach at Cardinal Stritch, while he led the women’s program to 29 victories, nearly double the amount of wins for the Wolves in the four previous seasons before he took over.

Brennan guided the Wolves’ men’s team to Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference titles in 2012 and 2013. He received the league’s coach of the year award each season, including 2012 when he guided Cardinal Stritch to its first-ever NAIA National Tournament. The women’s team won a program-record 15 matches in 2015 and scored the most goals in program history with 49.

Brennan holds a bachelor’s degree in sports organization and management and a master’s degree in sports management from Cardinal Stritch. Breenan is a native of Bristol, England.
