Lauryn Leininger joined the Washburn Sports Medicine staff in August of 2023 after spending two years at Pittsburg State University as an assistant athletic trainer providing coverage for the football and baseball teams. She will be working primarily with Washburn’s women’s soccer and softball teams.

Leininger completed her master’s degree in 2020 in Exercise Physiology at Midwestern State University as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. While at Midwestern she provided medical coverage for the women’s soccer team and assisted with the track and field team and men’s and women’s tennis program. Leininger also served as a preceptor and adjunct professor for the athletic training students in Midwestern’s athletic training licensure program.

Before continuing her education at Midwestern, Leininger was a sports medicine assistant at Missouri Southern State University. While there, she worked with the volleyball and softball programs.

In 2017 Leininger graduated with a degree in Athletic Training from Washburn University. While completing her undergraduate degree, Leininger worked with the football, softball, women’s basketball, volleyball, and baseball teams.

She is a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association.
