Lauryn Pehanich joined the University of La Verne as the head women's soccer coach prior to the 2013 season.
The Leopards showed immediate improvement under Pehanich's guidance in her first season. The Leopards went 9-10-1 overall and was 6-7-1 in the SCIAC in 2013, a five-win improvement in both categories from 2012, and just missed out on the SCIAC Championship Tournament by one game.
In 2017, the Leopards posted their best record in four seasons, ending 9-6-3 overall and 5-6-3 in SCIAC play. The Leopards were led by All-West Region and First Team All-SCIAC selections Jessica Hernandez and Alina Cobian.
Pehanich has coached a total of 12 Leopards on to All-SCIAC Teams and two All-West Region selections.
Pehanich comes to La Verne from Cal State Fullerton, where she enjoyed a successful five-year stint as an assistant coach at her alma mater.
Her primary duties with the Titan soccer program included the coordination of recruiting some of the nation's elite youth talent as well as leading on-field training sessions. Additionally, she served as the program's Director of Operations.
Pehanich previously coached on both the club and high school levels and served as head coach for the club LA Premier FC (LAPFC), GU16 Premier, GU19 Premier, the Troy High School varsity and junior varsity teams.
An accomplished collegiate player, Pehanich was a four-year starter for the Titans from 2003-06 and was a three-time All-Big West selection. She finished her career ranked seventh on the school's points list (46) and was tied for sixth with 17 goals. She also played professionally, spending time in Germany in the 2nd Bundesliga for FC Guetersloh 2000 in 2008.
Pehanich earned her bachelor's degree in kinesiology in 2007 from Cal State Fullerton and received her master's degree from Cal State Fullerton in sports psychology in 2010.
She and her husband Joe have three beautiful children.
