Loryn Mayer '19 has been a volunteer assistant coach for USI Women's Soccer since January 2023. Mayer played for the USI Women's Soccer program from 2016-2019 under Head Coach Eric Schoenstein.

During her playing career with the Screaming Eagles, Mayer was a three-time Academic All-GLVC nominee, and in 2019, she earned the GLVC Council of Presidents Academic Excellence Award. 

On the field, Mayer played 71 matches and made 51 starts primarily as a defender/midfielder. She scored six goals, including four game-winners, with six assists in four seasons, recording 18 points. Mayer totaled 4,580 minutes.

Mayer is a local native from Cynthiana, Indiana, as she split her high school career between North Posey High School (Poseyville, Indiana) and North High School (Evansville, Indiana). Mayer was two-time All-Conference, Academic All-Conference, and All-City honoree in high school. Plus, she was the 2012 team and conference goal leader, was elected to the 2014 North vs. South All-Star Game, and was a 2015 All-District honoree. Mayer helped lead North High School to the 2015 Sectional Championship.

Mayer was an exercise science major at USI.
