Maddy Reed joined the Kutztown University women's soccer program as its first-ever full-time assistant coach, April 11, 2022. She will be entering her third season at Kutztown in 2024.

Reed, a United States Soccer Federation "D" licensed coach, comes to the Golden Bears with more than nine years of coaching experience between the collegiate and club levels.

Since arriving to Kutztown, Reed has been a part of two runs to the NCAA Tournament, including a run to the Atlantic Region Final in 2022. In 2023, Reed was a part of the coaching staff that lead the Golden Bears to their first unbeaten regular season in program history and the first seed in the PSAC East, which resulted in a United Soccer Coaches Atlantic Region Staff of the Year honor for Reed and company.

Before Kutztown, Reed spent the 2021 season as an assistant at Northwestern Oklahoma State University (NWOSU), a fellow NCAA Division II institution based in Alva, Okla. She helped the team to its first winning season since 2014, as the Rangers finished 11-6-2 and qualified for the Great American Conference Tournament.

Reed got involved in coaching in 2017, serving as the Girls Competitive Director with the Tri-City United Soccer Club in Fargo, N.D. She held administrative and developmental roles while with the club, coaching three age groups and conducting goalkeeper training.

A standout goalkeeper at Concordia Moorhead (Minn.), Reed started 50 games over the course of her four-year collegiate career and played more than 4,900 minutes. She amassed 17 career victories, 221 saves, a 1.47 goals against average and 13 clean sheets. Reed posted a career-best 0.99 goals against average and .793 save percentage as a junior in 2017. Along with her on-field accomplishments, which include ranking No. 4 in program history in saves per game, No. 5 in saves and No. 5 in goals against average, Reed was a three-time academic all-conference honoree.

Following her playing career, Reed linked on with Division II Minnesota State Moorhead as an assistant coach for the 2019 and 2020 seasons. She was embedded in team training, recruiting, academic coordination and culture development. She also worked directly with the team's goalkeepers.

Reed, a native of Brookings, S.D., earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in exercise science and psychology from Concordia Moorhead in 2019. She also completed a master's degree in psychology at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 2023. Additionally, Reed is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
