Mara Primmer was named the head women's soccer coach in the spring of 2022 following a year serving as the interim head coach. SHe previously was the head women's soccer coach at Agnes Scott College in Georgia for two seasons.

Before her time at Agnes Scott, Primmer served as the women's soccer head coach and assistant athletic director of recruiting at Wells College for six seasons. Before joining Wells in 2014, Primmer served as an assistant coach at Oneonta for one season. The Red Dragons claimed the SUNYAC Championship in women's soccer following a 13-5-3 overall record in 2013. They participated in the NCAA Division III Tournament for the 14th time in program history. She also played one year in a similar role for the NCAA Division II Southern Connecticut State Owls, earning a trip to the Northeast 10 Championship Tournament.
