Matt Padeway was hired as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in July 2023.
Padeway serves as the primary contact for Florida Tech’s women’s soccer, men’s basketball, baseball, and Esports programs.
Prior to Florida Tech, Padeway worked at Salisbury University, where he was the graduate assistant in the sports information department since September 2021.
During his time at Salisbury, Padeway served as the primary contact for the Sea Gulls women’s soccer, men’s basketball, and women’s lacrosse programs while assisting with the other 18 varsity sports.
Padeway’s day-to-day tasks included producing post-game releases, compiling live statistics, photo/video shooting and editing, graphic design, and promoting scholar-athletes on all social media platforms. He also was involved in the broadcast production of the Sea Gull sports network, including play-by-play and color commentary.
Additionally, Padeway was a volunteer assistant coach for the Salisbury baseball team from August 2021 to May 2023, where he worked primarily with the catchers.
In the summer of 2022, Padeway served as hitting/position coach for the Keene Swamp Bats in the New England Collegiate Baseball League, where he was responsible for recruitment and development across multiple levels (DI, DII, DIII, JUCO). He was also a part of the groundskeeping crew for the home field and assisted in daily scouting of the opposing team’s pitching/defense.
A former Division III Scholar-Athlete, Padeway was a member of the baseball team at Salisbury from 2017 to 2021. He helped lead the Sea Gulls to the program’s first NCAA Division III National Championship in 2021. A First-Team All-Capital Athletic Conference honoree, Padeway ranks top-10 in program history in sacrifice bunts (21), defensive chances (810), and defensive putouts (711).
Padeway graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a minor in marketing management from Salisbury in May 2021 and completed his Master’s in Education in 2023.
